Michigan Avenue is a major street in Detroit, Michigan.

Detroit People Mover


Address: 1220 Cass Avenue (Corner of Michigan Avenue). Landmarks/Areas of interest: Detroit Coney Island, MGM Grand Casino, MacNamara Federal Building, and a statue of General Alexander Macomb.

Corktown


Irish emigrant began to move to Detroit during the 1830s, mainly from the potato famine, which they created a community we call today, Corktown. Corktown had also contained people of Maltese and Latino heritage. In the early 1900s, automotive factories were created, which attracted new residents to the Detroit area. Corktown is the last historic documentation in Detroit of the pre-streetcar city.
